Corporate Accountant

Position Overview:

The Corporate Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, general ledgers and performing general bookkeeping.


Essential functions:

  • Accounting transactions for assigned functions in the correct period including accruals of expenses, accruals of revenue, amortization of prepaid expenses, etc
  • Analysis of monthly financial statements
  • Bill properties for reimbursable
  • Bill attorney and paralegal time to properties
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures
  • Monthly cash flow analysis
  • Quarterly reserve requests to lender
  • Point person for Concur (Travel & Expense)
  • Prepare various reports for upper management as required
  • Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities when necessary
  • Research of accounting standards
  • Evaluate existing processes and procedures and help come up with recommendations for ways to improve efficiencies
  • Participate with annual budgeting and forecasting and present information to the executives
  • Prepare and coordinate the timely and accurate reporting and remittance of all assigned general business licenses and taxes, property taxes and regulatory requirements
  • Calculate and prepare payment requests for lease commissions
  • Prepare/review financial analyses; investigate and resolve necessary items
  • Ad-hoc assignments as requested


Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • 2-4 years of corporate or public accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact well with employees at all different levels throughout the organization
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Proficient use of Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to perform under pressure and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
